How to Install an In Ground Swimming Pool Vinyl Liner
Installation
1. Get template for liner measurement from pool supplier
2. Choose your liner color & pattern
3. Measure swimming pool for new liner and place order
4. Upon liner delivery drain pool
5. Inspect walls for rust or damage
6. Inspect floors for cracks or damage
7. Wash and broom pool from top to bottom
8. Vacuum pool floor and water that has collected
9. Install gaskets and screws
10. Tape seams in walls and coping
11. Hang liner
12. Install vacuum through skimmer behind liner
13. Position liner as air is removed from behind it
14. Shift liner to eliminate wrinkles
15. Begin adding water
16. Cut out main drains when there is 12" of water
17. Fill to 18" water in the shallow end
18. Remove vacuum and continue filling to returns
19. Install return gaskets and faceplaces
20. Fill pool to skimmer
21. Installer skimmer gasket and faceplate
22. Fill pool to halfway on skimmer mouth and start system
23. Add chlorine shock
Tips
- Be sure the pool area is absolutely clean before installing the liner
- Do not wear shoes of boots when walking on the new liner
- Use a plunger to help manipulate wrinkles
- Use wooden clothes pegs to assist holding liner in the coping track
- Choose a dark color liner to help heat your pool water for free
